Need for Speed: SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED announced by EA

On the same day Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit finally found its way to store shelves, EA has officially announced the next big driving simulator in the storied franchise — Need for Speed: SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED. Accompanied by a trailer that does little beyond shrouding the upcoming title in mystery, SHIFT 2 will be the sequel to EA’s popular game, Need for Speed: SHIFT. “SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED is redefining immersive racing by blending the rush of tearing up the track at unbelievable speeds with the emotional experience of competitive battle,” Marcus Nilsson, the game’s producer, said in a statement. “We are also working closely with real-world performance drivers to ensure that SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED captures their experience and becomes the benchmark in authentic racing action.” SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED will launch some time in the spring next year, and will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. BlackBerry Playbook simulator now available for Mac and Windows

If you’re anxious to see just what the new, QNX-based operating system on the BlackBerry Playbook is going to look like, listen up. The company has just released the Playbook OS simulator — along with the Adobe Air SDK — for both Mac OS X and Windows on its developer site. The simulator does not reveal any juicy secrets hiding in the PlayBook’s OS, and, for the most part, is pretty basic. Still, if you’re jazzed about the PB, and want to do a little spelunking around RIM’s new OS, hit the read link and have yourself a download. Enjoy!

Getting in a frenzy from all the press releases and new product images of the Storm? Settle down, RIM has a quick fix for ya. Head on over to RIM’s website and download yourself a copy of the new Blackberry Storm Simulator. Indulge yourself and give the touchcreen UI a thorough test run. Be warned the simulator uses that old silver-rimmed image of the Storm. Ugly! Looks aside, it is almost as good as holding it in your hand. Well, not really – we’re just trying to be nice and help through your extreme case of “I Want it Now” gadgetitis. For you Java code monkeys out there, you can also download the JDE 4.7 beta and start cracking on the latest and greatest touchscreen Blackberry application. What are you waiting for?
