HTC has reportedly confirmed a pesky bug impacting the audio on video recordings captured with Verizon Wireless’ new HTC ThunderBolt smartphone. The bug, according to several ThunderBolt owners who have taken to forums to discuss the issue, causes the audio to be muffled on video files captured using the device’s camcorder function. The bug is intermittent, so only some video recordings are affected. According to enthusiast blog Android Central, HTC has acknowledged the issue and has stated that a...

An unannounced Sony Ericsson was revealed last night when a leaked image of the Xperia X12, codenamed Anzu, was posted on an enthusiast blog. The image shows a device resembling the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 running a modified build of the Android 2.1 operating system. Little is known about the unreleased smartphone for the time being, though rumors give it a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, an HDMI-out port, HD video recording capability and a very slim candy bar form factor. A rumor fresh out of Droid-Life suggests that Verizon Wireless has an update slated for the DROID Incredible that will add 720p video recording and mobile hotspot functionality to the Android handset. As an added bonus, the update reportedly includes the signature DROID red eye boot animation which adds some eye candy (pun intended) to the handset. These two enhancements, and the extra bling, will narrow the gap between the Incredible and the DROID X, making your Android handset buying decision that much m...

The Nexus One’s inability to record videos in HD has always been a bit of annoyance, but thanks to a member of the xda-developers community, 720p video recording is now a go on the one true Google Phone. To get the mod to work you’ll need to be running Cyanogen’s CM5.0.8test3 and up. This means that for the time being Froyo is not supported, but a remedy for the lack of love for 2.2 is said to be coming soon. Click on through to check out a video shot by a Nexus One running the mod and then...

From the time it was released until today, one of the many gripes about the iPhone is its lack of video-recording capabilities (and MMS and copy/paste, we know). Alexander Wolfe of InformationWeek did a bit of digging...
