As if we didn’t see this one coming, the Palm Pre has made its official debut on Best Buy’s website. The handset is sporting a super-high $849 price tag which is apparently a deterrent. With a shortage of handsets “expected at launch”, Best Buy supposedly wants to discourage Best Buy employees and any other customers from buying the handset at full retail. Rumors have been flying around over the past day or so regarding the enV Touch launch and we just confirmed that the handset will indeed launch with Verizon Wireless on June 5th. The update to the almost two-year-old Voyager will feature some much needed improvements including a 3-inch internal display with on-screen keyboard, external 3-inch screen with 800×480 resolution, 3.2 megapixel camera with Schneider-Kreuznach lens and a 3.5mm headset jack. When we showed you some exclusive pics of the LG enV Touch aka Voyager 2 we didn’t know a whole lot about the Verizon-bound device. Don’t worry though, as some new details have now emerged thanks to a leaked Verizon Equipment Guide. One of our Verizon ninjas just sent through the latest Verizon Wireless rebate sheet covering May 11th to June 4th 2009 and it reveals a few upcoming handsets.
