Yesterday we managed to get our paws on a pic and some details on Sony Ericsson’s environmentally conscious C901 GreenHeart and today, it was officially announced alongside the Naite. Presumably delivered to your nudist colony’s front door by a vagrant hippie on horseback, GreenHeart handsets are constructed from recycled plastic, dressed up with waterborne paint and shipped in eco-friendly packaging. Starting with the weaker of the two, the Naite, you’re looking at a 2.2-inch QVGA display, 2 megapixel camera, 100MB of internal memory and microSD support. As for connectivity, the Naite is a quad-band EDGE device with 2100MHz HSPA although there will be a North American-friendly version with tri-band 3G. As for the C901, its specs are pretty much the same as the Naite except for its 5 megapixel camera with xenon flash and support for the 900/2100MHz bands of HSPA.

Both the C901 and Naite will ship with the EP900 GreenHeart low-power charger — claimed to reduce CO² footprints by 15 percent over the lifespan of the phone. The C901 also will include the MH300 GreenHeart headset that Sony Ericsson says is “made up of 100% recycled plastics in 4 out of 5 hard plastic parts and far exceeding legal environmental requirements.” Look for the C901 in Q2 and the Naite in Q3. We’ve been hearing about Samsung introducing a 12 megapixel camera phone since the beginning of this year and this morning the device that many of you have been praying for has been announced in the M8910 Pixon12. With specs that include a 3.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen display (Samsung claims it has a contrast ratio of 10,000:1), quad-band GSM/EDGE / dual-band HSPA (900/2100MHz), Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, FM tuner with RDS and 150MB of internal memory that’s expandable to 16GB via microSD, it appears that the Pixon12 is by no means a one trick pony. It has pretty much all of the features that are expected from a high-end phone these days. Back to that 12 megapixel shooter…

If Samsung’s claims are right, it’s able to take a new pic after a 2 second respite while it saves the large image file and can shoot 720 x 480 videos at up to 30 fps. Other than that, features like Smart Auto and Touch Auto-Focus as well as easy uploading to Facebook, Picasa, Flickr, MySpace, Photobucket and Friendster through Samsung’s Share Pix make up the big selling points for the device. Pricing for the Pixon12 has yet to be announced, but we do know that it will be available in Europe come the end of June before it begins to make its way to other markets in August. Say what, Satio? Yeah, that’s right.

While LG may have shown off the Viewty II at a trade show or two, it’s actual existence had never been officially acknowledged by the Korean company until now, as the handset has been officially featured on LG’s German blog. Although the company did reveal some very nice photos of the device which has also been given the nickname Viewty Smart, very little was mentioned in regards to the specs of the phone itself. However, since its spec sheet was captured by an eagle-eyed trade show attendee a few months back, we know the following:

• 12.4mm thin, 90g
• S-Class 3D UI
• 3-inch WVGA (800 x 480 pixels) touchscreen display
• Quad-band GSM, HSPA, WiFi, aGPS
• 8 megapixel Schneider-Kreuznach camera, Xenon flash
• 32GB storage

Find it odd that the company would provide such a small amount of info on its blog? Yeah, it looks like there was a bit of a mix up as the post in question has since been pulled — though the bright side is that the blog now states more info will be available in a few days. Perhaps then we’ll get a better idea of pricing and release timing as well.

T-Mobile has announced that they are going to be carrying the Samsung Memoir this month. We could never have guessed… A pretty little thing, the Memoir’s main selling points are is its 8 megapixel camera with autofocus, 16x digital zoom and Xenon flash. A virtual full-QWERTY keypad and aGPS make up the other goodies this phone offers along with Samsung’s TouchWiz interface. Now, the heart and soul of the Memoir is its camera and Samsung has made it easy for users to upload their pics to flickr, Kodak Gallery, Photobucket or Snapfish with the simple tap of the touchscreen. Thankfully this won’t be too much of a chore if you’re within T-Mobile’s funky 1700MHz 3G spectrum, but a lack of WiFi is going to make an awful lot of people sad considering that T-Mobile’s 3G network is currently as widespread as Eminem’s new album. Anyway, we’re quite excited to get some hands-on time with the Memoir — we love us some camera phones. Hit up the jump for a couple more pics and the press release.
