If you already spend a significant portion of your week keeping up with the latest tech news, this is your chance to turn that passion into a paycheck. BGR is currently hiring freelance writers to help us cover the wide world of technology — from smartphones and computers to the RAM crisis and the rise of artificial intelligence. We're looking for enthusiastic, curious, experienced writers with a strong grasp of the English language who can make sense of these stories and explain them to a wide audience.

Writers are given the flexibility to work hourly or be paid on a per-word basis. Rates are $21 – $25 per hour or $0.08 – $0.10 per word, depending on the experience of the applicant. You will not only be paid for your initial trial article but also for onboarding and training if your trial article is accepted. Another significant perk is that there's no pitching required. We have a dedicated team that delivers assignments daily for you to choose from.

As with every freelance position at Static Media, this is a fully remote job, which means you can work from the comfort of your home, a coworking space, your favorite coffee shop — wherever you prefer. Work schedules are flexible as well — some of our freelancers commit 40 hours a week to BGR and others work 10 to 20 hours. Plus, your work will be read by millions across a wide variety of platforms beyond BGR through syndication.

One of the things we're most proud of is our team of considerate and collaborative editors who work with our writers day in and day out to ensure everything is up to our standard. We want your voice to shine through on every story, which is why our editors use as light a touch as possible. They're here to make your work the best it can be.

If you're looking for steady, reliable freelance work, BGR's got you covered. Several of our writers have already been with us for over a year, and plenty more are fast approaching the same milestone. With a steady flow of assignments, writing here provides a level of consistency that can be hard to find in this industry. And if you do have ideas for stories you think would work for BGR, we're always open to pitches. If any of this has piqued your interest, you can apply for a writing position right here.
