Accessorizing household objects and electronics with stickers is a way to express yourself and flaunt your fandoms. Many laptops feature eclectic sticker collages. Those who plan to deck their GPUs with figurines may also have concerns about where to position them.

Whether or not you decide to decorate your GPU depends on where you plan to place them. Some Redditors warn that stickers shouldn't go places that impede performance. They advise against sticking anything other than light stickers directly on the fan blade. "Usually putting weight on fan blades is a bad idea," one user wrote. "[I] would only [do] so if they are VERY light. Small unbalance at those rpm's can be bad news for your bearings." Some say it may be less harmful to put stickers on your GPU's backplate, however, so long as the sticker's glue won't melt.

It's generally less risky to place figurines on your GPU, so long as they don't weigh it down or completely block airflow. A September 2026 PC Gamer article, however, revealed certain gaming PCs can handle several anime figures without affecting their systems' internal temperatures. In this case, writer Jess Kinghorn gradually stuffed 20 collectibles inside a PC without hindering performance.

Other ways to decorate your GPU

As fun as stickers can be, PC owners looking to show off their diverse personalities and interests via their graphics processing unit, or GPU, may also seek more permanent ways to add some shine. YouTubers like JayzTwoCents have taken it upon themselves to fully paint their GPUs. However, novice painters should be careful disassembling a unit and applying spray paint without globbing on too heavy a coat if you wish to avoid a costly computer mistake that would force you to buy a new graphics card.

People looking for sticker-like decorations to add to their GPU could opt for vinyl decals, rather than standard stickers. YouTubers like Peachietech demonstrate options ranging from small snowflake stickers to a full-sized, shape-conforming Barbie wrap can be perfect additions to brighten your GPU's aesthetic. Certain vinyl pieces can withstand temperatures up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, whereas typical GPUs generally reach safe temperatures from 140 degrees to 185 degrees. So, as long as they are placed in a location that won't damage parts or hinder performance, such as the fans, vinyl decals may be the better option to pursue.
