Portable chargers can be a blessing when it comes to giving your mobile device's battery much-needed replenishment in situations where neither an outlet nor wall charger is in sight. Not all are created equal, however, and we've even tested numerous portable chargers to find the best ones. Some would argue brands like Anker and Belkin sit comfortably at the top of the list. However, certain deviations between them could be determining factors in choosing which portable charger you add to your travel kit.

Anker products are often praised for their high-speed charging capabilities, reliable performance, and higher power outputs. Products like the Prime Power Bank put out up to 140 watts from each USB-C port, while cheaper models like the Nano Power Bank charge with a respectable 45 watts. Anker also has a large variety of power banks ranging from high-capacity options for laptops to lightweight, pocket-sized models for smartphones. Some, like the ultra-thin Nano Power Bank, snap directly to the back of smartphones, consuming less space in users' pockets.

Meanwhile, Apple has historically supported Belkin as an approved collaborator. Thus, some iPhone users may feel more inclined to choose the brand's offerings over other third-party options. Belkin chargers like the BoostCharge Power Bank 10K with Display are the more reliable option for evenly charging multiple devices simultaneously; options like the Anker Nano are better set up to charge one at a time. Belkin also offers highly portable chargers and magnetic options like the Slim Magnetic Power Bank 5K.

Anker and Belkin have their own respective supporters

Consumer preference also plays an important role in deciding whether Anker or Belkin has the best portable charger for you. Each label has earned respect from customers for their good-quality products and enticing upsides.

Anker fans across the internet have praised the brand for its reliability and affordability. "I've been using Anker devices for years and never had any issues," one Reddit user wrote. "Their MagSafe portable charger is something I never leave the house without." Conversely, some users argued that Belkin profits off of its name and luxury reputation rather than its accessories' overall quality and that they're more likely to become obsolete over time.

Those who are in favor of Belkin, however, claimed the brand is higher quality than Anker and stays true to its advertised specs, whereas they believe the competition generally values style over substance. "If you want to show your nice charger with blue accents, ring light and rounded corners, buy Anker," another user said. "If you want it to work correctly, buy Belkin."
