Jason Rochlin

• Originally from Los Angeles, Jason migrated to far colder climates, where he has learned new strategies for winter living. He has tackled tasks such as keeping icicles from growing off of a roof, protecting an air conditioner from plummeting temperatures, and finding the safest ways to shovel snow.
• After moving, Jason had the opportunity to decorate an entire apartment on his own, utilizing his previous research on color theory to pick out furniture. He recently learned how to place wall decor without making a space feel too cluttered while keeping art and photos out of direct range of the floorboard heaters.
• Jason is currently building a small business around selling ceramics while also expanding into other art forms, like hand-carving a wooden cutting board for chopping fresh herbs and vegetables.

Experience

Jason is a writer, editor, and proofreader with over a decade of experience working on all manner of publications in academia, private enterprise, and the nonprofit sector. He has written for Game Rant, Truly Hermosa, and Fur & Feather Animal Sanctuary. His work has been recognized by the California College Media Association and the Society of Professional Journalists, an organization he has maintained membership in since 2018. Jason joined Static Media in 2024 as a contributor, covering indoor and outdoor living spaces for both Hunker and House Digest. He is especially interested in the technical aspects of home repair and maintenance. His ever-increasing knowledge about plants even inspired him to start a patio garden at home.

Jason has a bachelor's degree in communications, with a journalism emphasis, from California State University, Fullerton.
