M5 MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, And Apple Vision Pro Now Available Worldwide
Following the announcements of Apple's new products powered by the M5 chip, Apple has now made available the latest MacBook Pro, iPad Pro, and Apple Vision Pro models worldwide. While neither of these upgrades is a complete revamp of these products, they bring important changes to the whole experience, and they can be great upgrades for those using older products, such as the M1 MacBook or an M2 or older iPad Pro.
Compared to the previous generations, Apple was able to greatly improve GPU performance with the M5 chip, even matching the Mac Studio's M1 Ultra, as every core has a Neural Accelerator. AI tasks are also faster than ever thanks to an improved 16-core Neural Engine.
Apple touts both iPad Pro and MacBook Pro as the perfect machine for AI workflows, video editing, and gaming. The new SSD also doubles the speed of reading and writing data on these devices, making the overall experience of transferring files smoother.
This is only the first batch of M5 products
While Apple refreshes three products with the M5 chip, leaked roadmaps say there are more Macs coming in the near future with this processor and other improved options. So far, the next batch of MacBook Pro models should be available early next year with M5 Pro and M5 Max options.
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says Apple is also preparing the release of an M5 MacBook Air, a new Mac miniwith the M5 and M5 Pro options, and possibly a new Mac Studio with the M5 Max chip.
For the iPad Air, Apple will likely take a couple of years to add the M5 chip to this product, as it currently features the M3 option. It's expected that Apple will first upgrade this tablet with the M4 processor. BGR will let you know once Apple shares its plans to launch new products, as we still expect at least 10 new Apple products in the coming months.
