The Budget Android Tablet Brand That Can Compete With Samsung Galaxy Tabs

If you want to get some work done, stream the latest movie, or need a portable device for fun, you might consider a tablet. There are several brands and types to choose from such as Apple, Samsung, and OnePlus. You also don't have to spend a lot on them, as there are affordable tablets you can for work and home, many of which are powered by Google's Android.

If you are looking for a budget Android tablet that can compare with some of the biggest around, the Teclast line of tablets may be worth taking a look at. One of the most popular Teclast models is the T65 brand that goes for around $190, depending on sales. Compared to the more well-known Samsung Galaxy brand, and its Samsung Galaxy Tab A11's price of around $380, it sits at a much more comfortable price point for tablets. The two tablets seem similar at first, aside from the Teclast having a larger screen. However, when it comes to computing power, the Teclast doesn't provide as much performance using apps or as quick a charging speed.

Teclast's tablet is still a worthy competitor to Samsung Galaxy's series of tablets if you need a cheap tablet, especially for streaming. The Tecast screen is large, more so than the Samsung, and has a high refresh rate. For everything else, it may lag a bit at times.

On its surface, most of the Teclast T65 tablet's features match up against its competitors. It offers 256GB of storage, it has an "octa-core processor" and its 13.4-inch display runs at 120Hz. However, its internal chips are not able to offer the same performance as its pricier competitors. 

When put up against the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11, there are a lot of differences including its 11-inch screen, 90Hz refresh rate, and 256 GB. The screen is smaller and the refresh rate is lower. But its performance is faster. They both run off of the same operating system of Android 16 as well.

One review from the European publication Notebookcheck said that the Teclast's "limited performance" often can't keep pace with its screen. The reviewer also criticized its small battery and slow charging. If you want that larger screen but performance to match, there are many other best big tablets you can buy.

Owners on Amazon who have bought the Teclast T65 say they enjoy the large screen as it provides a much more expansive viewing area when watching movies and streaming shows. Some said its battery life was good, as was its performance, though the device isn't able to multitask all that well due to the chip. However, other comments said the sound and image quality from that larger screen may not be the best.

When it comes to budget-friendly tablets, Teclast and its T65 model is not the only affordable tablet on the market. There are several others that run off of Android's operating system as well as devices produced by well-known brands including TCL and even Amazon. Both are actually made by companies that also have a line of TVs.

TCL may be more widely known for TV, but the company does manufacture tablets, as well. The TCL Tab 10 Gen 4 Android Tablet is priced at around $149.98, making it a more affordable device for those who just need something to work or play on. It has a 10.1-inch screen, 128 GB of storage, and uses Android. There's also the Amazon Fire HD for around $129.99. It has an eight-inch screen, 64 GB, and is a thinner and lighter tablet for more portability.

Some Amazon reviewers for the TCL say they enjoy the value it provides, as well as its battery life and performance particularly for streaming. However, it isn't that beefy a tablet and it may not handle games all that well. Comments for the Amazon tablet say they like its screen and size, but it isn't that fast and the battery may not last as long as they expected. Amazon offers tablets with smaller screens, which can be more challenging for anyone who wants to do some work, school, or manage documents. Still, sometimes the value is good enough, especially if it's a cheap Android tablet that can fit in the palm of your hand.
