5 iPhone Chargers More Powerful Than Apple's 20W USB-C Adapter

We live in a world that is overly inundated with smartphones, and the iPhone is one of the top players. From one generation to the next, iOS-powered devices have shown improvements in overall battery life, but they're still not as energy-efficient as other USB-C gadgets. On a full charge, an iPhone 18 Pro Max can deliver up to 45 hours of video playback before needing a refuel. When paired with a proper USB-C charger and cable, the 18 Pro Max can fast-charge from zero to 50% battery in as little as 15 minutes.

That all sounds great on paper, but let us not forget that Apple only provides a USB-C cable for new iPhone purchases; that means you're on your own for securing a USB-C power adapter. Fortunately, there are numerous third-party companies that make USB-C adapters, and we've featured many of these brands in our accessory roundups. Heck, even Apple makes a solid USB-C brick that we want everyone to know about.

To that end, we put together a list of five iPhone chargers more powerful than Apple's 20-watt charger (which doesn't come with a new iPhone purchase). All selections are from long-standing, reliable manufacturers, and we didn't pick anything that scored less than four stars on Amazon.

Anker makes some of the best phone accessories on the market, and the $30 Anker Nano Smart Display Charger is no different. On Amazon, the product has a 4.7 star score, based on over 2,700 user ratings. Compatible with the iPhone 17, 16, and 15, as well as multiple iPad models, the charger doles out up to 45 watts when connected to an AC outlet.

That's enough juice to recharge an iPhone 17 Pro from zero to 50% battery in as little as 20 minutes. The built-in screen gives you a breakdown of the battery percentage and charging mode, and displays animations that give the charger its own personality. You can also double-tap the recessed button to switch to the TÜV-certified Care Mode, which lowers the max charging temp by up to 9 degrees Fahrenheit (ideal for overnight charging).

The Nano Smart Display is available in four colors: Black, Blue, Orange, and White. The majority of reviews were at the 5-star level, too; just be aware that you'll need to provide your own USB-C cable. And as a bonus, you should also be able to fast-charge a compatible Samsung Galaxy phone with the Nano, too.

The $35 Dynamic Power Adapter from Apple is one of the best chargers you can pair with your iPhone. About as portable as it gets for a single-port adapter, the Dynamic Power Adapter has built-in folding prongs, making it easy to collapse and stow away in a bag or laptop sleeve. It's also engineered to deliver up to 40 watts of power, while also providing an occasional boost to 60 watts for short-duration charging (when used with a compatible iPhone model). 

The Dynamic Power Adapter scored 4.8 out of 5 stars on Amazon, and 92% of user reviews were at the 5-star level. People really appreciate the "get what you pay for" factor of the adapter; it quickly charges USB-C devices, including iPhones, iPads, MacBooks, and even Samsung Galaxy devices with fast-charge capabilities. One review mentioned that the charger gets a little toasty when actively charging, but that's totally normal, particularly for such a tiny product.

One of the only complaints we unearthed was the lack of color options. We understand the need to personalize, but Apple's iconic off-white colorway is a worldwide brand staple for a reason.

Ugreen is another reliable accessory brand that offers a wide array of budget-friendly products, including USB-C power adapters. The $40 Ugreen Nexode 3-Port Wall Charger ($24 in a limited-time deal, at the time of writing) delivers up to 65 watts to your iPhone and other devices, and uses GaN technology to keep the adapter relatively small. Still, it's bulkier than other USB-C adapters we've discussed, so it might be tough to plug it in behind furniture; that said, the foldable prongs make the Nexode an easy travel option.

We like that Ugreen decided to provide more than just a single USB-C port. When one device is connected, each of the two USB-C ports outputs up to 65 watts, while the USB-A dishes out 22.5 watts. And with all three ports taken up, the top USB-C doles out 45 watts, and both the second USB-C and USB-A are capped at 8.5 watts. Similar to other Nexode products, the adapter features a number of failsafes, too, including protection against voltage spikes, overheating, current overflow, and short-circuiting.

Amazon shoppers really like the Nexode 3-Port; it scored 4.7 out of 5 stars on the site, based on over 13,000 user ratings. Most feedback was at the 5-star tier, too, although we did see a couple of complaints about operating temperature. Apparently, the Nexode gets a little hot when charging certain hardware.

While there isn't a single iPhone that'll accept more than 60 watts, sometimes it pays to have a souped-up USB-C charger that you know will push as much power as possible. For these types of situations, we suggest going with the $22 Satechi USB-C PD Wall Charger Block. Similar to the above Ugreen charger, the Satechi uses GaN technology for enhanced charging and heat dissipation; it also helps to protect the device from overcharging and overheating. Plus, Satechi gives you a two-year limited warranty should the charger stop working for any reason.

While there's only one port to speak of, it's a 100-watt USB-C Power Delivery (PD) connection. This makes the Satechi an excellent choice for those dire situations where your phone or laptop is about to die. That said, your iPhone or other hardware will need to support fast charging for the best results, and you'll also need to use your own USB-C cable. Fortunately, this is another foldable-prongs adapter, so tossing it in luggage or a backpack shouldn't be a problem.

What does the Amazon crowd say? Not as much as they did about that Ugreen adapter, but over 70 individuals shared feedback, giving the Satechi a 4.4-out-of-5-star rating. Most folks appreciated the pure power that Satechi brought to the table, but a couple of individuals ended up with defective units not long after purchase (here's hoping that warranty came in handy).

Our final selection is the $35 Belkin Compact USB-C Charger Block, 2-Pack, and even though it's at the bottom of the roundup, it doesn't make it any less impressive. For starters, this might be one of the tiniest 45-watt USB-C chargers we've laid eyes on; weighing only 2 ounces, both units are small enough to tuck into most shirt and pants pockets, as well as backpacks, laptop sleeves, and luggage (they also contain foldable prongs!).

We also like that Belkin designed the chassis of each charger with 72% recycled plastic. According to the manufacturer, the adapter is able to charge an iPhone 16 Pro from zero to 50% battery in only 28 minutes. Thanks to its USB-C PD 3.1 port, these Belkin chargers are compatible with both fast-charging iOS and Android devices, and the brand is even kind enough to provide USB-C cables. Both adapters are also covered by a two-year limited warranty.

On Amazon, the Belkin BoostCharge combo scored 4.7 out of 5 stars, based on over 300 user ratings. Customers love the build quality and charging efficiency of the adapters. Some reviewers weren't so pleased with the short cord length, but considering no other adapter on our list comes with a cable, it's a nice addition.

To curate this list, our primary selection criterion was to find adapters that outperform Apple's 20W USB-C adapters. For that reason, the adapters on the list have an output of at least 40 watts, going up to 100 watts. We know high-wattage chargers can get bulky pretty quickly, hence many of our selections come with foldable prongs and small form factors. Lastly, we took into account the real-world feedback from Amazon users and only selected adapters with at least a 4-star rating.
