All 5 Seasons Of A Cult-Classic British Sci-Fi Series Are Streaming For Free

We've already recommended some great dinosaur movies you've probably never heard of, but what about TV shows? "Primeval" isn't widely known outside of the United Kingdom, but the series was a relative hit in its homeland, attracting millions of weekly viewers. However, Tim Haines and Adrian Hodges' show is far from extinct in the United States, as all five seasons are available to stream for free on Tubi and Pluto TV.

"Primeval" follows Nick (Douglas Henshall), the leader of a group of scientists tasked with stopping creatures rampaging throughout 21st century Britain after they arrive via time portals. Terrifying monsters aren't their only problem, though, as a group of terrorists hell-bent on bringing about the end of days are also on the loose.

Hodges and Haines' series features a variety of creatures, many of which are of the prehistoric variety. "Primeval" doesn't get into the nitty gritty about the history of dinosaurs, but viewers in the mood for a pulpy sci-fi show can expect a good time. What's more, the story doesn't end with Season 5.

"Primeval" ended after five seasons, but the show's creators wanted to keep it going for a while longer. In 2009, Warner Bros. acquired the movie rights, but the project has yet to roar into action, robbing us all of a potentially great dinosaur flick. Be that as it may, there are plenty of great "Primeval" books that continue the adventures, and fans of the show should read Dan Abnett's "Extinction Event," as the story was originally planned as a television episode.

Elsewhere, viewers can check out the spin-off show "Primeval: New World," which moves the action to Canada. This one follows Evan Cross (Niall Matter) and his team as they attempt to get to the bottom of the portal chaos in the Great White North, encountering many beasties along the way. Sadly, "Primeval: New World" ended after one season, joining the endless list of other great sci-fi shows that were canceled too soon. Still, the episodes are worth hunting down after you've binged the original series and need a dinosaur fix.
