2 Huge Feature Updates Added To Apple Weather In iOS 27

iOS 27 released in September 2026, bringing with it a ton of new Apple Intelligence features, including Apple's big Siri AI revamp. While those big changes are certainly going to be exciting for some users, folks who appreciate the smaller things in life will be happy to hear that Apple has added a slew of tiny updates to improve how you use its applications. This includes new features in Apple Wallet and even some big updates to Apple Weather (via 9to5Mac).

The changes coming to Apple Weather are certainly on the smaller side, but they will take two features you've previously been able to use and put them closer to your fingertips. On top of being able to see the forecast for the temperature in the coming days, you'll now be able to check out the rain and wind forecast directly from the home page of the Apple Weather app. Previously you had to dig through the menus in the app to find this information, like tapping on specific days to see the rain forecast. This should make it easier to use the full breadth of information the Weather app offers without having to learn a bunch of different shortcuts.

You'll also now be able to see the Precipitation and Wind sections alongside the Conditions view, which you could previously view from the home page of Apple Weather. This should bring Apple's Weather app more in line with some of the best weather apps out there. To see each, you'll simply need to tap the new rain and wind icons, which will swap between the available views. Each of the views will show you both hourly and 10-day forecasts, giving you an immediate and future look at what's to come.

Depending on how you plan to use the Weather app, you may still find yourself wanting to go with one of the popular alternatives out there. Weathergraph, which sports a 4.2-star rating on the App Store, offers similar functionality, including a breakdown of hourly forecasts across your iPhone, Apple Watch, and Mac. It also offers several detailed widget types, with some users writing in their reviews that they provide the most information at a glance across different weather apps, which is great if you need to be aware of what the weather is doing constantly.

Another solid option that you may still want to consider is Foreca Weather & Radar. This app has over 5,000 ratings and is currently sitting at a 4.8-star average score on the App Store. The developers offer an assortment of widgets with detailed information, as well as a ton of customization to help make the app yours. That's an area that Apple's app is still somewhat lacking, even with the updates — so if you care about customizing your phone as much as possible, Foreca might be a solid option to keep in mind. 

Both the third-party apps above offer wind and rain forecasts like Apple Weather, and you can even see probability forecasts for up to 15 days in apps like Foreca. So, if the Apple Weather app's 10 days doesn't feel like enough, you can always give Foreca a try instead.
