5 Affordable Digital Gadgets That Can Fit On Your Keychain

The humble keychain has been around for as long as we've had things worth stealing. But besides jangling with numerous keys, some folks have long found other ways to make their keychains useful. Online marketplaces like Amazon are teeming with ideas on how to make your keychain more than just a home for your keys by adding devices that include everything from flashlights and multi-tool gadgets to bottle openers and USB drives.

But there are lots of less obvious options, too. As gadgets have continued to shrink, it's become possible to carry surprisingly capable devices alongside your keys, with many potentially coming in handy when you might not expect (you just have to remember that you have it on your keychain!), while others can be whipped out and used simply for fun. We've focused on a range of digital devices that will be more than happy to keep your keys company, each costing less than $50.

If you're out and about and your phone, Apple Watch, or some other gadget is low on juice, then this keychain power bank from Rorry could save you. With a 10,000mAh battery, the CharmGo Pro packs considerably more power than its compact, keychain-friendly design might suggest. The device features built-in charging cables (USB-C and Lightning) so you won't need to carry any cables in your bag when you walk out the door, while its USB-C port can deliver up to 45W of power to compatible devices. And yes, it also has a dedicated Apple Watch charger built in, as the photo above shows.

Currently holding a 4.3/5 score on Amazon from more than 650 ratings, the CharmGo comes with a digital display to show how much charge remains, and once the power bank runs down, it can be recharged in just over two hours with a 30W charger. At $43, there are cheaper 10,000mAh power banks available, but they won't fit on your keychain like this one does. Just keep in mind, however, that at around half a pound, it's likely to be the heaviest item dangling about alongside your keys.

What the Kodak Charmera lacks in size, it certainly makes up for in nostalgia. Launched as a keychain gadget in 2025 and inspired by Kodak's first single-use film camera from 1987, the Charmera is a tiny digital camera designed to bring some old-school fun to snapping photos and shooting video. The cute little device weighs just 1 oz and measures about 2.2 inches in length, making it a perfect fit for your keychain.

Sure, its 1.6-megapixel sensor isn't ever going to put your smartphone to shame, but that's actually the point. The images you get from this diminutive device will have a distinctly lo-fi, retro character that's a world away from the polished perfection of your pricey handset. It offers built-in filters, too, allowing you to add different effects to jazz up your shots. The $35 Charmera, which has a 4.5/5 score on Amazon from around 4,000 ratings, uses a microSD card for storage and recharges via USB-C. Kodak sells the camera in blind-box packaging with different designs like those shown in the photo above — another quirky element that turns it into something of a collectible. Charmera is one of a bunch of available cameras that have a good go at putting the fun back into photography. 

This rather nifty box of tricks is actually a tiny Raspberry Pi-powered programmable computer designed to look like a very small Game Boy console. TinyCircuits' Thumby Keychain Game Console comes with five preloaded games — versions of "Snake" and "Pong" along with a shooter, a side-scroller, and a dungeon RPG — that you can play on its minuscule display. If you're into coding and fancy taking it to the next level, you can actually program it yourself in MicroPython, too.

Despite its toy-like appearance, there's plenty happening under the hood of this $30.52 device that appears on Amazon with a 4.5/5 score from over 300 ratings. The Thumby includes six tactile buttons and 2MB of storage to let you load up your own games, animations, and other software experiments. If a friend buys the same device, you can even link the consoles together for multiplayer games like the previously mentioned "Pong." It's actually an astonishing mini gadget that retro gamers will definitely love.

Your phone most likely has a voice recorder on it, but you may find that by the time you've grabbed it and fumbled around with the app, the thing you wanted to record is already over. Vandlion's device is a digital voice recorder that fits on your keychain and is quick to start thanks to its one-touch record button. It even has a mode that starts and stops recording whenever it detects sound. Internal storage of 32GB gives you up to 450 hours of recording, and you can choose between MP3 and WAV formats. It also has around 25-40 hours of battery life and can be recharged via USB-C. The same port is used to transfer your recordings to a computer or a compatible phone.

That makes this $40 device handy for all sorts of situations, like recording lectures to listen back to later, documenting discussions in meetings so you don't have to constantly take notes, capturing ambient sound during a vacation, and saving any interesting thoughts or ideas that pop into your head throughout the day. Vandlion's digital voice recorder has a 4/5 score on Amazon from nearly 1,000 ratings.

This final one is a little different from the others in this list, but it's still a solid selection that could end up being worth every cent of the $25 (available for $20 in a limited-time deal, at the time of writing) you pay for it. Instead of an item you use directly, this digital keychain gadget is designed to help you find your keychain should you misplace it. The Life360 Tile has a 4.2/5 score on Amazon from nearly 11,000 ratings. It attaches to your keychain along with your keys and any other items you have on it, and uses Bluetooth to help you track it down if it goes missing.

Once you've added the Tile to your keychain, you go through a one-time process to pair it with your phone. Then, if you can't find your keychain and you're close by, you can get the accompanying app to make the Tile play a sound so that you can easily locate it. If you're some distance away — say you lose the keychain and the attached Tile in a shopping mall — the Life360 network will use other connected phones to locate its whereabouts. A useful extra is that if you misplace your phone, double-pressing the Tile will make it ring, enabling you to quickly find it if it's close by. There's a lot of competition in the Bluetooth tracker market, but they don't all include a hole like the Tile for easy attachment to keychains and other items.

We looked for small digital devices that are available for purchase on Amazon, have a rating of at least 4/5, and have favorable reviews from verified buyers. Moreover, we prioritized items that we considered to be genuinely useful or fun. They had to be affordable, too, so we limited our search to products costing $50 or less.
