Andy Zahn

• Andy has undertaken multi-day backpacking adventures to field-test various products such as bionic exoskeletons, satellite communication devices, and various photographic devices. He often describes himself as a "cyborg backpacker".
• Andy is a gaming and PC-building enthusiast. He built his first custom PC out of scrap wood zip ties, painted canvas, and organic furnace filter. He has constructed many more conventional machines since then, and has extensively covered everything from boutique PCs to ultra-portable laptops and handheld gaming machines.
• He is passionate about music and audio in general, having reviewed numerous headphones, earbuds, and speakers over the years. He is also a musician, primarily specializing in the guitar.

Experience

Andy is a professional photographer, videographer, and licensed drone pilot. His has received several awards for his images over the years, and his worked has been featured in a number of documentaries and advertising campaigns. His writing career also spans decades, from humble origins with the Longview Daily News and Seattle Backpackers Magazine, to Lifewire, Digital Trends, Android Police, and his current work with SlashGear and BGR. Andy also frequently volunteers his services for environmental nonprofits, such as the Legacy Forest Defense Coalition, the Wild Fish Conservancy, the Friends of Willapa National Wildlife Refuge, and LightHawk.

Education

Andy attended Lower Columbia College where he studied photography, graphic design, arts magazine publication, and English.
