Lisa Jo Rudy

• Lisa was the Senior Writer for the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, where she researched and wrote about science and engineering topics of all sorts for exhibits and gallery presentations.
• Lisa worked with the Smithsonian, Goddard Space Flight Center, National Geographic, National Science Foundation, and many other top science organizations to communicate complicated science, engineering, and tech ideas to absolutely everyone.
• Lisa is a lifelong science fiction addict, charter member of the Science Fiction Book Club, owner of multiple vintage, signed Star Trek photos, and is seriously into exploring retro visions of the future.

Experience

Lisa has been writing about science, technology, and engineering since 1984. She's worked with a huge number of researchers, curators, corporations, publishers, and universities to write articles, books, and tutorials on topics ranging from ocean science to Wordpress widgets. Some of her favorite projects include writing trade books on satellite technology for Scholastic, cave biomes for Harcourt, and dinosaurs for EBSCO. At home, Lisa and is working her way through vintage science fiction books and movies from the late 1800s to the present day. As a writer for BGR, she enjoys covering a wide range of tech topics, from new gadget releases to the latest discoveries in the fields of science and engineering.

Education

Lisa earned a bachelor's degree with honors in the humanities from Wesleyan University and a master's degree from Harvard Divinity School.
