- Vic was nominated for MCV's Journalism Impact Award at the MCV Women in Game Awards 2025 for her work as a freelance journalist. This award recognizes those "using their voice to positively build the industry as well as hold it to account when needed." She's also been nominated for this award three times before, in 2019, 2020, and 2022.
- In 2018, she won the Games Media Brit List's Emerging Talent award following her news internship at Eurogamer. These awards aimed to "celebrate the very best in UK games writing and broadcasting." The Eurogamer internship allowed Vic to lean into her love of investigative reporting, as she looked into topics such as the link between video game loot boxes and gambling and video game "whales."
- While gaming is her passion, Vic also loves being in the kitchen, which has allowed her to branch into covering home tech. She regularly reviews everything from air fryers and blenders to rice cookers and thermostats.
Experience
Vic started her career as a journalist in 2017. After completing her degree in journalism, she served as Eurogamer's first news reporter intern, where she covered events, daily news, and long-form investigative pieces. In 2018, she became TechRadar's gaming writer, covering all the publication's gaming content, including news, features, reviews, interviews, events, evergreen content, and buying guides. In 2020, she took on the role of gaming editor. In addition to her previous responsibilities, this role saw her building and executing event plans, identifying trending topics, and playing a pivotal role in managing the channel's day-to-day output and shaping the channel's strategy. Due to the success of TechRadar's gaming vertical, the decision was made in late 2021 to launch the vertical as a brand in its own right: TRG. Vic moved into the role of associate editor, taking on new challenges, such as streamlining processes to improve the new site's efficiency, training staff, and directing the site's content for the coming year. In 2023, Vic joined Dot Esports as gaming editor, with the goal of growing the non-competitive side of the brand. Today, Vic is a full-time freelancer who primarily covers games and home tech, with bylines at Eurogamer, Polygon, IGN, PCGamesN, and GamesRadar.
Education
Vic holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from City University London and a higher national diploma in broadcast journalism from Belfast Metropolitan College.
